| Description | Guess The Word is a game about meaning. Fizbo picks a secret word and reveals only its category, everyone sends one word in the chat at the same time, and each guess is scored on how close in meaning it was. The player with the most points at the end wins. |

🔤 How a Round Works
- Fizbo announces the category, and nothing else: The word belongs to Food.
- Send one word in the chat. Everyone answers at the same time inside a 15-second guess, and the message keeps a live list of who has answered and what they sent, so you can see which words are already taken.
- When the guess closes, Fizbo posts a radar. The secret word is the bullseye, every player is a dot, and the closer your word was in meaning the closer to the centre you land — hot in the middle, cold out on the rim. You keep the same direction on the board for the whole game, so you only have to watch your own dot move inwards.
- Nobody found it? The same word opens another guess. A round gets 8 of them by default.
- The moment somebody types the word exactly, the round ends and the word is revealed at the centre of the board. If the guesses run out first, Fizbo reveals it anyway and moves on.
Because everyone answers at once, a round takes the same time with 3 players as it does with 100.
Scoring
A round pays your single best guess of that round, not the sum of them. A far guess, then a warmer one, then a warmer one still is worth the warmest of the three and nothing else.
- The closer your word is to the answer in meaning, the more it pays — up to 30 points for a word sitting right beside it, down to a couple of points out near the rim.
- Landing the exact word is worth double the best possible guess — 60 points.
- The score is then scaled by the word difficulty, and by the 🚀 Boost perk if you bought one.
Nobody is eliminated, and players tied on points share the win.
What counts as a guess
Your guess has to be one word, under 20 characters, and it cannot contain the secret word or the category word inside it. Words are claimed first-come-first-served, so a word another player already sent in the same guess is taken.
Anything left is either a word close enough in meaning to score — it takes its place on the radar — or a real word that is simply far away, which is accepted and drawn cold on the rim. Early guesses are meant to be far away.
⚙️ Game Settings
Number of Rounds
How many secret words the game plays through before the winner is decided, between 3 and 10. The default is 5.
Guesses per Round
How many times a round asks players for the word before revealing it, between 5 and 15. The default is 8. The round still ends early the moment someone types the word exactly.
Guess Timer
How long each guess stays open for players to type their word, between 7 and 20 seconds. The default is 15.
First Answers
Close each guess as soon as this many players have answered, instead of waiting out the timer. Between 10 and 30 answers.
Word Difficulty
How big the word pool is. Each level also includes every easier word — it widens the pool rather than replacing it.
- Easy — easy words only. This is the default.
- Medium — easy and medium words.
- Hard — all words, including the easy and medium ones.
A guess here is a word, not a click, so a hard secret leaves most of the lobby cold. The wider pools are the setting a server opts into once it knows the game.
Online Mode
Play with players outside your Discord server. More info on Cross Guilds.
Online games use a shared player limit, so your plan's raised limit doesn't apply to a lobby other servers joined.
Maximum Players
Set how many players can join a game using the slider. Each plan has its own ceiling — raise it with Plus, and higher still with
Premium. See the table above for this game's exact limits.
Lowering the limit is available on every plan — the paid perk is the higher ceiling, not the ability to adjust it.
Your games start at the highest limit your plan allows. If you'd rather keep them smaller, set the limit yourself.
