WHAT IS HOT XO?
HotXO is tic-tac-toe where the board never fills up: each player's third mark disappears the moment they place their fourth. That makes draws impossible — you can only win with the three marks you currently hold, so a match runs until someone actually lines them up. Winners advance through the knockout; losers are out.
HOW IT WORKS
1FACE OFFPlayers take a small grid against each other, one mark per press.
2MOVES VANISHYour third move disappears once you make your fourth, so the board never fills up and the game runs long.
3WINNERS ADVANCETake the line to win your match; losers are knocked out.

EXTRA LIFECOMMON QUESTIONS
Is HotXO a tic-tac-toe game with disappearing moves?
Yes — HotXO is Fizbo's take on the tic-tac-toe variant where marks vanish, sometimes searched as infinite tic-tac-toe. Each player keeps only their last three marks: placing a fourth removes their oldest one and reopens that cell. The board can never fill up, so there are no stalemate draws — every duel runs until one player completes three in a row with the marks they still hold.
Should I play XO or HotXO?
Play XO for the classic game: marks are permanent, matches are short, and drawn boards are possible — Fizbo settles those by kicking both players. Play HotXO for the deeper duel: the burn rule means defences expire, lines reopen, and matches keep evolving until someone genuinely earns a win. Both run as whole-channel knockout tournaments, so the real difference is how much thinking you want per move — XO is speed, HotXO is planning.
How do I know which of my marks will disappear in HotXO?
The game tells you before it happens. When it is your turn and you already have three marks down, your oldest mark repaints into a burning marker on the board you see — that is the mark that will vanish the instant you make your next move. Only the player whose turn it is sees their own marker, so tracking which of your opponent's marks is about to expire is part of the skill.
Can a HotXO match end in a draw?
Not by a full board — the burn rule makes that impossible, since cells keep reopening as old marks vanish. A duel continues until one player lines up three with their surviving marks, and the winning line lights up as the grid locks. The clock is the only other way out: the prompt above the board reads “@player you have 10 seconds to play”, and a player who stops responding is ejected, which resolves the duel without a draw.
